We’ve all heard the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover.” But that is exactly what potential customers and clients do as soon as they walk through the doors of your business.
The appearance of your store or office is of the greatest importance when it comes to impressing your clientele and turning potential customers into returning customers. One of the biggest problem areas for your office appearance is your carpets.
If you haven’t had your carpets professionally cleaned in a while, here’s a rundown on what you’re accumulating:
1. Dirt, grime, and grit — Most people set mats at the front door so people can wipe their feet as they come in. Unfortunately, sometimes this doesn’t work, and people just end up tracking in the dirt and dust from the outside world.
If you live in cold regions, then you can add wet snow and road salt to this mixture of accumulation that can add up in your carpet’s fibers. In a home with just a few occupants, as much as 40 pounds of dust can accumulate in a year. Now multiply that by the number of people that work in your office and you can see that this can become a problem.
2. Mold and allergens — Another major concern is the buildup of mold, mildew, and other allergens. Mold survives in a wet environment, so if you have a large spill that goes uncleaned or a leak in the subflooring, you could easily wind up with mold in your house. This isn’t just a cleanliness issue. By not cleaning these allergens properly, you could be endangering the health and wellbeing of your employees.
3. Food particles — Even if you are incredibly careful when eating at your desk or in your office, you will still get microscopic crumbs and food particles in the carpeting. As these accumulate, it can leave stains and attract bugs.
The bottom line is that in order to have a clean and pleasant looking carpet for your commercial site, you need to have regular deep cleanings handled by a trained professional. This will ensure that everything that has been accumulating over time is removed and your carpets stay in pristine condition.
