Ahhhh…. the holiday season is over, and as a retail store owner or manager, you are looking forward to finally catching your breath. But wait! It’s time to start thinking about getting organized and spruced up for the new year.
As the year comes to a close, you have a long list of things to prepare for—restocking, changing the signage, updating pricing. But does your list include having your store cleaned? Remember, during the shopping season thousands of feet trampled the carpet, sticky fingers smudged the displays, and who knows how many spills and crumb drops took place.
Now is the perfect time to give your store a little tender loving care. Luckily, there are professionals who can take care of holiday-related messes for you.
Focus on the Floors
While your customers may not notice the effects of wear and tear on your floors, they can feel it. Your employees can, too. The difference may be subtle, but fresh floors will make your shop look and feel better to anyone who enters.
Carpet is especially susceptible to showing the signs of use (or abuse). Professional carpet cleaning will get rid of the stains, ground in dirt, and overall tired look of your floor. Not only that, regular carpet maintenance can make your floors last longer.
If you have tile flooring, a thorough cleaning and polishing will make them look brighter. Cleaning up that ground-in dirt can also make your floors more sanitary.
Look Up High
We tend to clean what we can see. So even if your regular cleaning crew does a great job, they may be missing what’s higher than eye level. Unless your ceiling has recently been dusted, high-up glass cleaned, or your light fixtures polished, there are probably dust bunnies and cobwebs lurking nearby. A thorough cleaning by a reputable commercial cleaning can take care of that in no time.
The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to make sure that your retail location is spic and span. A deep commercial cleaning can give your store a brand-new feel. Your customers will sense it, your employees will thank you, and you may even find yourself with a fresh sense of excitement about what’s in store for the new year.
